For custom spray work, the PVC film can follow flame graphics, curved stripes and rounded motorcycle tank surfaces with light hand tension. Its typical elongation is 180%-260%, helping it follow curves during normal application. On recessed panel lines and plastic bumper corners, apply it at a low angle and press the spray-side edge to reduce small gaps that may cause paint bleed. Panels should be dry and free from wax, oil, sanding dust, polishing compound and loose overspray. Typical peel adhesion is 1.5-2.2 N/10 mm under standard factory test conditions.

Before applying Automotive Fine Line Tape, wipe the surface and let it dry. On a bumper curve, motorcycle tank or flame line layout, guide the tape with light tension instead of pulling it hard. A lower application angle helps the tape sit flatter. After positioning, press the spray-side edge with a fingertip or soft applicator so the edge seals evenly before spraying.

When Should Automotive Fine Line Tape Be Removed After Spraying?
Automotive Fine Line Tape should be removed before the paint film becomes fully cured. The right timing depends on coating type, spray thickness, booth temperature and drying speed. In many spray jobs, the tape is removed when the color coat or clear coat is dry to touch but still slightly flexible. Pulling too early can disturb wet paint, while waiting too long may leave a harder edge or increase lifting risk. Peel the tape back slowly at about a 45 degree angle instead of pulling it straight upward.
